We made it!

Well I am happy to announce that after all the planning and praying and packing we have finally made it to our destination, Pichilemu, Chile. Our trip here was…long, almost 30 hours of transit! We left Wednesday morning and didn’t arrive at the YWAM base until Thursday afternoon. Trying to sleep in chairs is not fun.

Pichilemu is a very beautiful town. We live a short walk away from the ocean and the scenery here is breathtaking. Before you get jealous I should tell you that it is quite cold here. The houses have the insulating power of cardboard and so I am shivering as I write. A staff member from Vancouver told me that he went surfing and saw a penguin swim by him, no kidding!

There are people here from all over including Ecuador, Uruguay, Germany, Columbia, Peru, USA, Costa Rica, Argentina, Mexico, Canada, England, and El Salvador. If you look at the list you can guess that most of the people here speak Spanish and so we are already learning a lot very quickly.

Please pray that God will give us clarity regarding our role here. In three weeks there is a DTS (Discipleship Training School) that will be going on a two month outreach to Southern Chile for two months. There is only one staff member that is able to go and about 15 students and so some people mentioned that perhaps we could go with them to help the team. There is also a new DTS that is beginning next week and so we may be able to staff with them. There is a lot of projects and construction on the base that could use help as well. As you can see we need some guidance and direction! We know that God will lead us where he wants us to go.

It is exciting (and scary!) to trust God with so much but we have experienced his faithfulness and provision so much in our lives. This is an exciting step in our lives and we are happy to share it with you and hopefully we can encourage you with our stories and you can encourage us as well. As much as we love it here, It is always hard to be away from home and familiar things and so we would love to hear from you.

Thanks everyone for your support and prayers, they are much appreciated!! Ciao!
