Cutting Edge Stencils {review and giveaway!}

I love trying out products and getting inspired with new ideas so when Cutting Edge Stencils contacted me to review their stencils I couldn't have been more thrilled! They have such a wide variety of stencils to choose from and the possibilities of what to do with them are endless.

Personally, I had never used stencils before but they were so easy to use that even someone with little or no stenciling experience could still have amazing outcomes. If you are a stenciling newbie like me, Cutting Edge Stencils has a Youtube channel with lots of great how-to videos full of helpful tips to get you started. You can also check out their blog if you need some inspiration and ideas on stenciling projects.

I decided to try out the Zinnia Grande 3 piece stencil kit. I can't tell you how much fun I had with these stencils! The best part was that there was so little effort and time involved but the results were outstanding! (Aren't those the best kind of projects after all?)

For my first attempt I simply attached the stencil to a piece of white scrapbook paper using blue painter's tape. I used three different shades of pink acrylic paint and dabbed the paint into the stencil. This literally took me under 5 minutes to do.
And just like that I had a beautiful piece of artwork for my daughter's room.
Then I decided to try out something else so I took this plain wooden box...
and added a pretty coat of turquoise paint.
I attached the stencil to the top of the box and used the foam roller to apply some white acrylic paint.
I matched up the stencil and painted the front and side of the box as well.
 I love the outcome!
think having the stencil pattern spill over onto the sides of the box adds a really cool effect.

I also lined the bottom of the box with a piece of pretty scrapbook paper and sealed it with a layer of Mod Podge.
For my next project, I headed over to Home Depot and got a precut panel of 1/2" thick MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard.) It was originally 24"x48" but I had them cut the long piece down to 40".
I gave it two good coats of white paint.
And then I attached my stencil and began to apply some navy blue paint with the foam roller.
With each project it was so exciting to lift the stencil off and see the finished product!
Here it is above our dresser. Such a fun piece of art!
Look at how crisp the lines are. Love it!
Ultimately I decided to hang it up above Liam's dresser/baby changing station. I couldn't be happier with how it came out.
Finally, for one last quick and easy project I taped the stencil onto a plain white onesie and used the brush to dab on some blue fabric paint. I think this would make a really cute baby shower present. You could also use the same technique to fancy up a plain tote bag.

My goddaughter came over for a little visit (isn't she just darling!) So I had her model the onesie for me
She wasn't exactly in the smiling mood despite our best efforts... but she was an adorable model nonetheless.
Ok so now for the fun part! Cutting Edge Stencils is offering to give away one stencil of any value up to $50 to one of my readers. (Woo hoo!) The winner can choose their favorite from the site and they will even ship it for free.
